I originally reviewed and tested the first version of the Pintech EZ Sound Module and gave it a thumds up but this new and improved Version 2 is even better! I made a few recommendations for improvements during my test of the first module and Pintech listened! As a matter of fact they took the settings that I used during my test and burned them into the new module as the system default! This is the best sounding drum module you can buy for the price and it comes complete with MIDI in/out jacks so it can be used as much more than a simple sound module, as explained below, it can also double as a MIDI controller.

Designed for single-triggered electronic drums, this module is perfect for use on your practice kit or as an extension module when you run out of input jacks on your primary drum module and offers sound good enough to take on the gig.

It is also easily upgraded to dual zone capability by adding an Alesis IO to your system. (Check out the video on YouTube for details.) Pintech's EZ Module V2 is a fully MIDI capable module and can be used as a trigger to midi device to run most software based drum programs such as BFD by FXpansion or EZdrummer by Toontrack. Generally, all you need to accomplish running these software based programs with our EZ Module is a MIDI to USB device, such as the Uno by M-Audio. The USB Uno is a very simple adapter/device that allows you to plug your drum module into a PC through a standard USB jack. Your drum module will then send and receive MIDI information to your computer. This makes the EZV2 not just a drum module but an inexpensive mulitfunctional tool for your home or professional studio!

The Pintech EZV2 Module contains 389 voices, 20 preset drumkits, 10 user drumkits customizable with reverb and EQ, 50 preset songs and 4 slots for your own songs. If you'd like to a sample of what this module sounds like, check out my video review of the original version 1 module below.
